Good to know before your visit.
We've gathered answers to the most common questions we hear before visiting Prison Island in Wrocław - to make your game the best possible experience from the very first minute.
About the game
What is the difference between Prison Island and a regular escape room?
In a classic escape room, you lock yourself in a single room for an hour and solve puzzles in a set order. In Prison Island, you have the entire building and twenty-two cells at your disposal at once—you choose the order, and a green light indicates which one is currently free. This means more movement, more choices, and more opportunities to earn points instead of being stuck on a single puzzle.
How long does the game last and how many cells can be visited?
Typically, 1–2 hours is enough to visit most cells, although only the most cohesive teams visit all twenty-two cells at a time. It's not so much the number of cells visited that counts, but the number of points earned.
How many people are needed for a team?
A minimum of two people is needed, though teams of three to four people work best. Some cells only fit one team member at a time, but points are always earned together, as a team. You can also come with a larger group—simply split into several teams competing for a shared score.
Is it safe and suitable for children?
Yes, Prison Island is designed for players aged from 9 to 99. Challenges test reflex, quick thinking, logic, cleverness, not strength or courage bordering on risk, making it a great activity for entire families.
Do you have to be athletic to cope with the tasks?
No. The challenges are designed to be accessible to people of all abilities—you don't need to be an athlete. If a particular cell isn't up to your standards, simply skip it and find another available one.
Is Prison Island suitable for company integration?
Yes, team competition under time pressure is exactly what teams planning team-building events are looking for. You can compete in multiple groups for a place in the leaderboard, and the results stay in the system longer than many a company bowling game.
Reservation
Do I need to make a reservation in advance?
Reserving online, by phone, or by email guarantees your spot on your chosen date. Teams without a reservation are also welcome if there's a slot available—but weekends and school holidays can be busiest, so we highly recommend booking in advance during these times.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes! Students under 26 can buy a reduced-price ticket. Just select it when you book online and show a valid student ID at reception when you arrive – so don't forget to bring it with you.
Clothing, lockers and accessibility
I get panic attacks in small spaces — is this place suitable for me?
It's good to know what to expect. Some cells are dark and fairly small, and a few feature lighting effects that may not be suitable for people with epilepsy. At the same time, Prison Island has no locked rooms in the classic escape-room style—doors open with an ordinary handle, so you can leave a cell at any moment or skip it and move on to another one that's free. If a particular space turns out to be uncomfortable for you, simply skip it—the rest of the game is still yours to enjoy.
How to dress for a visit?
Comfortable clothing for light physical activity is best—sports footwear, trousers or shorts, and a T-shirt. Stilettos and other high heels are not permitted, we also do not recommend wearing combat boots.
I'm pregnant - can I play?
Of course! You don't have to participate in every challenge with your team—you can choose which tasks you want to participate in, cheer on your teammates at other or simply rest when you need to, without being dropped out of the game.
Is there a wheelchair access?
Due to stairs and stage design, most cells are not wheelchair accessible. The reception area and common areas of the building are accessible. If you require a custom solution, please let us know before your visit—we will do our best to help.
Is there anywhere to store things while playing?
Yes, you'll find lockers on-site for your personal belongings, however, we advise you not to bring any valuables or larger items. Food and drinks are not allowed in the cells. You can take your phone with you, but we are not responsible for any damage or loss.
How to find you?
We're located at Białoskórnicza 1, 50-134 Wrocław. A map and detailed directions can be found on the booking page.
